Creating an Outdoor Oasis with eBay

IMG_1176IMG_1220

Creating the perfect tropical outdoor oasis for summer was a breeze with eBay! From the poolside lounge area, a statement tiki bar complete with a new margarita mixer (because what’s summer without a margarita?), and even brand new planters for my back porch… eBay had absolutely everything I needed to transform my backyard into a dreamy summer sanctuary that is perfect for entertaining!

eBay has long been my go-to for finding unique pieces, vintage items, and one-of-a-kind home accents. The major bonus is you’re getting all of your finds at an amazing price. You can even make offers and bid on pieces, which is perfect if you’re decorating on a budget. eBay’s vast selection and pricing make it the best place to go if you’re looking to redecorate! I’ve found some of my very favorite home decor items just by browsing eBay.

I am in love with how this backyard re-vamp turned out and how easy it was to find everything! I cannot wait to lounge here all summer long.

My Holiday Tablescape with MacKenzie-Childs

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! There is truly nothing I love more than decorating our home for Christmas — getting the family together to decorate the tree, singing Christmas songs, making a big dinner. The holidays seem so much more magical with Bo this year and I want to build as many Christmas traditions with him as I can so that we can keep that magic as long as possible!

Food and the Holidays go hand in hand for us and nothing sets the mood more than a gorgeous place setting. It doesn’t have to be an elaborate set up for it to be beautiful… and you don’t need a whole series of Christmas plates (although, I’ve had my eye on a set!) but a few key Holiday pieces can make a big impact without going over the top! MacKenzie-Childs makes having a gorgeous tabletop effortless.

What’s your favorite Holiday tradition? Comment below!

Fall Pillows Under $30

Y’all know that I have a serious weakness for seasonal decor… Prime example:

But there’s no need to break the bank on pillows and home goods you’re only going to use for one month. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fall pillows that will keep you styling until Thanksgiving (when everything orange immediately turns to red) and don’t cost a fortune!

Because sometimes all you need is a pumpkin spice colored pillow to feel like fall!

These indoor/outdoor pillows are great for decorating your outside area — and at $14 for TWO you cannot go wrong!

I feel like I would use these chic lumbar pillows all year long. I love this color — it is so warm and inviting!

Love this cute reminder, super easy to throw on an accent chair for a sweet pop of fall!

The set-of-four pillow cover set you could even separate and give as fall gifts! (With a pumpkin spice candle of course)

My love for leopard is no secret, so of course I’d want to incorporate it into my fall decor. Although, I believe leopard is appropriate for any season!

My Favorite Fall Candles

Fall is one of those times of year where just a scent can transport you places. From PSL to apple cinnamon, when you live in a town that only has one season (hot) you crave fall through fragrance!

I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite fall candles I’ve found so far this season — did I miss your fave? Comment below and tell me your go-to fall scent!

I mean, can Joanna Gaines do anything wrong? All of the Hearth and Home candles smell delicious and are in the prettiest jars. Run to Target and grab you one (or four) of these!

Another Target find, this candle is the definition of fall and for only $5 you cannot go wrong!

I LOVE Capri Blue candles, this is by far my favorite scent of the season. And the jar is BEAUTIFUL! These last forever so it’s definitely worth it and they make the perfect hostess gift!

Shawn loves the notes of Bourbon in this manly candle — we aren’t super floral-y scented people and this is just the right amount of “manly fall” making for a candle everyone approves of.

While this luxury candle is definitely a splurge (way more than I would ever usually spend on a candle) I only light it on special occasions and I LOVE this warm amber scent!

A traditional pumpkin spice candle that never goes out of style — I love this clean fall scent.

This giant fall candle even LOOKS like a pumpkin — making it perfect for any Halloween/fall decor vibes AND it smells heavenly!

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE

I know, I know.  I am married to a builder, we have two lots to build homes on over the next couple of years, two beautiful house plans that we drew together, more story boards than we could ever count and we bought a home, one with the most incredible rooms, y’all the kitchen + closet = LOVE, and to die for views.

Back in May, I was at the doctor with Bo for his shots and just so happened to look on Realtor at homes for sale (near me) in Murrells Inlet, SC as that is where Shawn and I wanted our forever home to be.  This beautiful, southern home on the inlet popped up, I swear I looked at Realtor.com everyday and why on this day this one popped up, I didn’t know then, but it would be our forever home.

Shawn was out of town so I called our good friend Bradley Parker to take me to it.  My mom and brother were with me, so we went to look at it, and as soon as I pulled into the driveway, I knew it was our home.  The driveway, the architecture, the southern charm, the landscaping, just every detail was everything we have ever wanted in a home, and the views were TO DIE FOR.  I immediately called Shawn and told him I had found our home, and he laughed and never said anything else about it, we had our house plans, we were building.

As soon as he got back to SC, I called Bradley and made him set up another showing, mind you, Shawn is a Realtor too, he he, but I felt like it was more of an experience if Bradley were with us.

Shawn and I went and looked at the house, and Shawn loved it, but his dream was for us to build and so he didn’t really take it serious.

Over the next month, we’d take the boat by the house and look at it and he would bring it up…okay, I would bring it up every chance I got and we would talk about how beautiful it was.  Literally, there was not one thing we would change about the house.

Another month went by, and a lot of begging and pleading, but the day finally came we decided to put an offer in on the house.  Shawn and I are so busy with work,  I think we finally came to the realization that time isn’t slowing down, and we are so ready for life to start in a new home-that we didn’t want to wait another year while our home was being built, especially when this one was so perfect. With a little negotiating, the sellers accepted our offer and we closed on our dream home yesterday!

I cannot wait to watch Bo grow up on the inlet.  I am saddened at the fact that Shawn and Bo will be out on the boat and fishing everyday so I will barely get to see them, he he, but I know it is somewhere Bo will LOVE growing up, and his dad too!  When we were doing the walk through on Wednesday, I already pictured where Bo’s kindergarten pictures would be, where he and all of his buddies would be playing hide and seek, where I would take his first prom pictures followed by graduation, and finally, where I would see him pull in and out of the driveway when he will come home to see us from college. The number of memories that will be made in this home are uncountable and it makes my heart so happy to see Shawn so happy!  Murrells Inlet is his happy place and he deserves this beautiful paradise to come home too because he works so hard for us and everyone else.

I wanted to share so much of this with you all, but I also didn’t want to jinx it-I swear it all feels almost too good to be true.

I will be updating and sharing pictures + decor with you all but for now, we are just SO excited to get moved in and make this stunning house our home.
