A Weekend Trip to Palm Beach, Florida

This was, by far, one of our favorite vacations we have ever been on! Palm Beach is absolutely stunning and there is beauty EVERYWHERE you look. Staying at The Breakers definitely made it 10x better.

The Breakers is essentially the heart of Palm Beach. It was built in 1896 by the Flagler Family and has since grown into this amazing retreat.

Shawn and I have been lucky enough to travel to a number of beautiful places and also stay in some amazing resorts but The Breakers exceeded every expectation, even getting me Redbull for my Vodka Redbulls when a bar didn’t have it. When I say above and beyond, the staff there made you feel like royalty. There were so many ah-ha moments where you’re thinking, “if only every resort were like this.” I even said to Shawn, “If we could go back and have our wedding day again, it would 100% be here.”

We loved how peaceful and clean the beach was in front of The Breakers. With four heated oceanfront pools, one for adults only and one for families + 5 hot tubs, everyone was very spread out! I loved that they had someone to help you find chairs and keep them for you as long as you wanted. The Breakers also has an ocean fitness club + classes, 25 luxury bungalows, 36 Hole Championship Golf/Ocean Course (perfect for our husbands while we relax at the beach), Tennis Courts, 11 Shopping Boutiques, 8 restaurants and 8 bars, 24 hour in room dining, childcare services, snorkeling, scuba diving, cruises, and other water sports.

We stayed Wednesday through Sunday but it wasn’t long enough. Normally after three days, I am fully ready to get home. If Bo were with us, we would probably still be there, hehe. We are already planning our next trip and plan on taking Bo with us next go around. The Breakers truly is a beautiful place for couples but it is also super family-friendly.

– Meat Market
– Guanabana’s (in Jupiter but recommended by SO many)
– Avocado Grill (also picture worthy)

Drinks in Palm Beach:
– Cucina (so fun and a great little date night place)

Instagrammable Spots in Palm Beach:

A Family-Friendly Weekend in Williamsburg

We had the perfect pre-holiday weekend in Williamsburg, VA a few weeks ago, and this mini-getaway could not have come at a better time. We loved spending some quality time (just the three of us!) in such a beautiful place. I’m from Virginia and have always loved how gorgeous and historic Williamsburg is, especially around the holidays! It is a perfectly picturesque town you can envision as the set of a Hallmark movie, complete with cobblestone streets!

The leaves were breathtaking, and we loved strolling through their historical downtown and exploring everything that this beautiful area had to offer. It was very family-friendly, and Bo loved seeing all the battlefields! He’s starting to really soak everything in, and it is so fun watching him experience things for the first time.

We were SO excited to stay at The Great Wolf Lodge. We had never been, but some of our friends highly recommended it, and we are so glad we stayed there. The indoor water park was amazing, and the lodge was just beautiful. Plus, everyone that works there is SO nice, and there were SO many fun kids activities going on as well. Bo even got to see SANTA! The lodge really has taken all precautions to make everything super clean and safe, and we are already planning our next trip to The Great Wolf Lodge.

The Visit Williamsburg team recommended some amazing restaurants around the area, and let me say they were delicious! On night one, we had dinner right out front of the Great Wolf Lodge at The Huntsman’s Grill, where we tried some wild game. Shawn was in heaven, and Bo loved the fish tank! It was so nice being so close to the hotel so we could go back for some swimming and fun in the arcade!

Before heading to the Art-Full Tree Event at the Art Museum in Colonial Williamsburg, we ate at The Hounds Table (the Mac and Cheese, DIVINE). After the tree event, we had worked up an appetite, so we headed for a light snack at Electric Circus, which is inside the Precarious Beer Hall. Their guacamole and the empanadas were AMAZING!

We then went ice skating near Merchants Square (and had some hot chocolate, of course) and headed back to the lodge to change so we could go to Busch Gardens Christmas Celebration! Bo loved riding the train in Busch Gardens, and it was so fun to see him so happy on the rides they have for little ones. The Christmas lights were absolutely magical, and I am so happy we were able to go. I highly recommend going in December just so you can see how beautiful the lights and decorations are. We ate our way through Busch Gardens and then headed back to the Lodge for pizza.

We absolutely loved Yorktown! Driving along the Colonial Parkway to Yorktown was so beautiful. I loved riding the Parkway in December, but I am SURE it was gorgeous in the fall. We went early to go to the and the Viking Yule Tide Celebration and the Christmas Market on Main, where we purchased the most beautiful marble charcuterie board. Bo grabbed some homemade cookies, and we enjoyed seeing the local art and Christmas carolers. We then headed to the American Revolution Museum. We loved being able to see first-hand the re-created Continental Army encampment. Bo was so engaged and asked so many questions. It was really cute to see him so excited.

For lunch in Yorktown, we ate at Water Street Grille, and it will forever be a MUST for us whenever we are in the area. The view is gorgeous, and the food is SO good. We had oysters, deviled eggs, and Caprese salad for an appetizer. Then Shawn had the lobster bake, Bo had the skillet blueberry pancake that was out of this world, and I had my favorite, a Shrimp Boil. We rode around Yorktown and finished the night off with dinner at Aberdeen Barn, where we both had the prime rib, and it was DIVINE. The staff was so nice there, and the atmosphere was so cozy and sweet. Definitely a MUST when in Williamsburg.

Finally, we had brunch at Blue Talon Bistro and then headed home through Norfolk and the Outer Banks, which, if time allows, I highly recommend traveling that way. It was so beautiful. So many of you recommended so many amazing restaurants. I wish we had more time to go to them, and we already cannot wait to go back. Here is a list of restaurants in the area.

We could not have dreamt of a better weekend and cannot wait to go back to Williamsburg again. With so many attractions and sights to see, this can be a destination for anyone. You can have a full day of museums for a historical getaway or parks and hikes for the nature lover. There’s also shopping and dining, or just relaxing and enjoying the view. There truly is something for everyone!

*A special thank you Visit Williamsburg for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Best Places to Eat In Myrtle Beach, SC

I often get questions about where to eat when traveling to Myrtle Beach, so I thought I would put together some of my favorite restaurants from Pawleys Island, SC to Little River, SC.

From here on, I am going to make a list and briefly explain why I like the places! Let’s  start out with our favorite places in Myrtle Beach:

Myrtle Beach:

  • Flamingo Grill– You have to get the lobster bites and shrimp and grits, IMO best on the Grand Strand.  They also have great Prime Rib and their house salad dressing is my all-time favorite!
  • Angelos– The BEST Ribeye IN the WORLD, make sure you order the one on the sizzling plate, be sure to get a side of Alfredo.
  • RipTydz– It is newer here on the Grand Strand, but I LOVE a low country boil AND THEY HAVE ONE that is small enough for me or large enough for Shawn and me to split.  Plus the view is INCREDIBLE and the drinks are always cold.  I love acoustic music and normally there is an acoustic musician playing and a DJ on the top floor! One of our new favorite places.
  • Aspen Grill– The 10 layer chocolate cake is DIVINE…need I say more?!
  • Woodhaven– Y’all, seriously the BEST waffles and breakfast in the world, IMO! their omelets are pretty good too)
  • Dagwoods– Great place to hang out and watch games, perfect for lunch, I LOVE their sandwiches, Tommy Texas Cheese Fries, and their BBQ chicken wings are THE BEST!
  • Mr. Sub– IMO a staple place in Myrtle Beach for a sub! AND it’s right near the beach.
  • Soho– A fun and pretty cool place for happy hour, date night, or after-dinner drinks.  It looks like it belongs in Charleston or NYC and the food is really good! A few weeks ago we went there for happy hour and got amazing sushi and would you believe me if I told you the BEST Chicken Nachos?! We also love going here before CCMF!
  • Hook & Barrel-The restaurant is probably one of my FAVORITE decor/architecture wise. It is SO beautiful and the layout is incredible.  Shawn and I always sit at the bar and love the Shrimp Scampi Appetizers that are sizzled in front of you, for dinner we will share the Myrtle Beach Paella, which is clam, shrimp, scallops, crab, chicken, andouille, tomato, and vegetable broth, served over a Carolina gold rice medley, and for dessert, YOU HAVE TO GET THE CHOCOLATE CHIP SKILLET COOKIE!
  • Crave– Another restaurant where I LOVE the atmosphere and the food is so good!  I always get the Mozzarella Caprese, and for dinner, I love the Tuscan Filet Bites or Pasta Scarpariello-if you like spicy it’s a must!

Pawleys Island:

  • Rustic Table– Cute restaurant, I love the Kirby Goes Bananas for Brunch, The Comfy for Lunch, and the Meatloaf for dinner.  Their drinks are sooooo good and refreshing too!
  • Bistro 217– (Where Shawn took me to meet his parents) For lunch I love the Oysters on the Half Shell or Fried Shrimp Caprese Salad, ooo the Turkey Club Croissant is good too! For dinner, Tomato Crab Jalapeno Soup (or the French Onion), normally I get whatever their special is but if I am not crazy about that, the Local Flounder is always my go-to and the Mixed Berry Cobbler for dessert!
  • Franks– Beautiful, romantic restaurant and perfect for date night, special occasions, or an anniversary! We try to go here at least once a week! You can absolutely not go wrong with ANYTHING on their menu but I especially love the Crab Cakes with Braised Collards and Pimento Cheese Grits, ahh, my mouth is watering!!!
  • Hog Heaven BBQ– Definitely not fancy, they have a menu and a buffet, but you CANNOT beat their Fried Chicken and BBQ! Oooo, and the Mac and Cheese and Collards, oh yeah, and their Banana Pudding! SOOOO GOOD!
  • Pawleys Island Tavern– Good little local place that is great for salads, sandwiches, burgers, and beverages! Their Crabcake Plate and BBQ Plates are really good and I love there Cajun Popcorn
  • Hachiya– Formerly Miyabis (owners split), still the same people, still the same food, and still our favorite restaurant! The Filet, Chicken, and Shrimp special is BOMB DOT COM yall!
  • The Local – A variety options for all diets, picky eaters, etc that are all delicious! They have an amazing Brunch menu!
  • Moe’s BBQ– the BEST sides I have EVER had- and their BBQ is pretty darn good!

    Surfside/Murrells Inlet

  • Big Apple Bagel– Mmmhm, best bagels in Myrtle Beach-and yes, we have tried about all bagel restaurants here!
  • Wicked Tuna/Tuna Shak- Beautiful atmosphere and the crab cakes, mmmhm! Honestly, anything from Wicked Tuna is delicious including their Sushi and Ribeye!
  • Wahoos- Shawn and I’s favorite restaurant/hang out place, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings/nights! Their specials are normally amazing-especially anything with Risotto and their Sushi is OUR favorite!
  • Drunken Jacks (My dad’s favorite)- I am not a huge fan, most of the seafood is fried and I am not a big fried seafood fan, but everyone in my family LOVES it and the view is BEAUTIFUL.
  • Gulf Stream Cafe- (Where Shawn stood me up for our first date/brunch, lol) Best Sunday Brunch in South Carolina and the Bloody Mary’s are SO GOOD.
  • Mojo’s – This is where we had Bo’s 4th birthday party and everyone loved the food! They just updated their menu with a range of options. Kid friendly with their pirate ship playground and great views.

    North Myrtle Beach/Little River:

  • Crab Catchers– A little dive bar/restaurant on the water WITH THE BEST FRIED GROUPER SANDWICH IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Seriously, I AM NOT KIDDING! OOOO, and ask for a side of cheese to dip it in!!
  • Little River Deli– If you’re looking for a good sandwich, I love Little River Deli.  They always have the freshest bread!
  • Biminis– Our favorite “local place” for seafood.  Their fried seafood is TO DIE FOR as well as their steam pot/shrimp!
  • Kings Pizza– Their pizza is good, BUT THEIR TOASTED SANDWICHES and meatballs are amazing! The house dressing they put on the sandwiches (or for salads-I love the greek salad) is delicious!
  • Clarks– Kind of reminds me of Carolina Roadhouse or California Dreaming, but IMO it is much better.  They still have the sticky yummy croissants but I LOVE their French Onion Soup, House Salads, Green Tomatoes, and the Hurricane Chicken is my FAVORITE dinner entree! The crab cake on the chicken is DELICIOUS!
  • Mission BBQ– It is a chain BBQ restaurant but it is my favorite BBQ restaurant!  Their sides and sauces are AMAZING and the banana pudding is SO GOOD!!! Bo loves it too!

Georgetown

  • RiverRoom- Such a cool restaurant and it is on the riverfront Main Street in Georgetown.  I love their chicken dishes and Shawn loves their seafood.
  • Rollin’ Local- Their sushi is delicious, their hibachi is so good, and their apps are THE BEST!  They have a full bar as well and the restaurant is so pretty!
  • Ball and Que- One of my favorite mom and pop restaurants that has the BEST Fried Chicken Club!  They also have daily specials that if you can get-DO IT!

Conway

  • Pickled Cucumber– (I just HAVE to throw this one in there because it is my FAVORITE place to eat in the world.  It used to be in Surfside but caught fire last year so they reopened in Conway, SC.)  It is a meat and 1/2/3 place (they have a regular menu too) BUT DO NOT SKIP ON THE CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS, CHICKEN BOG, MAC AND CHEESE, COLLARDS, OR THE STEWED CABBAGE. SOOOO good y’all!
  • Rivertown Bistro– I love Rivertown’s atmosphere.  Sadly, If I am going to Conway for lunch tho, I am going to Pickled Cucumber, BUT, their lunch is equally as good, just a different style.  I LOVE the cozy, yet classy atmosphere for dinner with friends, date night, or just going into the bar for a bite.  I recommend the Low Country Spring Rolls or the Hot Crab Dip for an appetizer and I also love the Fried Goat Cheese Salad. For dinner, whatever their special is, I recommend (it is never bad)!  If you aren’t feeling the special tho, they have great sushi or the Sesame Seared Tuna is fantastic!  You can’t go wrong with their Filet dinner either, their bacon pimento cheese twice baked potato = LOVE!

BEST DONUTS = KRISPY KREME DUH!

Hopefully, this will help when you’re visiting Myrtle Beach or even if you live here and are discovering new places! Of course, there are a million good restaurants here, these are just our favorites!

OK, now I have a question for YOU, WHERE DO YOU LOVE TO GO IN MYRTLE BEACH, or have you been to any of our favorites (if so what do you get)?! We LOVE trying new places!

#rStheCon / rewardStyle Conference

Well, mostly an overview of what I wore to #rStheCon because, PRIORITIES. I have to say, I was so incredibly honored to be invited to the rewardStyle conference this year alongside all of the amazing women that inspire me daily. For those of you wondering what #rStheCon IS… It’s a conference hosted by LIKEitKNOW.it for top bloggers and influencers to network with brands and learn from top industry leaders — basically, I spent the weekend in a walking version of my Instagram feed.

A few highlights, for me, were the speakers: Jamie O’Banion of Beautybioscience, and Charlotte Jones (Dallas Cowboys VP) were so knowledgeable and energized the whole room. Perfectly curated backdrops and brunches gave the weekend the dreamiest vibe, no details were spared in the production of this event. From the room keys, to the towels, everything was ‘gram worthy.

Don’t ask how I crammed 18+ outfits into a four day weekend, but with five checked bags, I made it happen and here’s the proof!
